Religion Program
All students receive daily instruction in knowledge of our Roman Catholic faith. The Family Life program provides a comprehensive approach to the understanding and reverence for human sexuality and respect for all life, consistent with Catholic values. Classroom prayer and community worship is an integral part of our religion program. Our students receive sacramental instruction in collaboration with the parent as primary teacher. Throughout the year, students participate in many outreach projects that put their faith into action.
Academic Programs
Language Arts
Our Language Arts program follows an integrated approach to language usage. Through listening, speaking, reading, and writing, our students will become effective users of language.
Parallel Programs and Title 1
We offer a special needs, small group Parallel Language Arts program for students in grades one through four which follows the same curriculum. These classes are held the same time as the homeroom class, therefore, reducing the class size for all students.
Supplemental pull-out programs (Title
1) are available in reading and math to qualifying students in grades
Kindergarten through third grade. Catapult Learning administers this
program under the direction and supervision of the principal.
Math
Our math program enables our students
to solve problems, to communicate, and to reason mathematically. In
addition to the parallel math program for students in grades three
through eight, an accelerated pre-algebra and algebra program is offered
to the junior high.
Science
Through our inquiry-based science program, our students learn to ask questions, to investigate the answers and to communicate that knowledge to others.
Social Studies
Our social studies program teaches our students how history has an impact on their lives today. By studying history, current events, geography and cultural differences, our students will become respectful, responsible citizens in our changing world.
Special Subjects
In addition to the basic
academic program, students have the opportunity to participate weekly in
art, physical education, music, computer, and library.
