On the second to last day of each school week, typically Thursday, a folder is sent home with each child with any important papers from the school office. An online weekly newsletter, entitled
Thursday's Thoughts, is published to the website the same day
folders are sent home. All faculty and staff of Holy Angels School have e-mail addresses which are given to parents at the beginning of the school year.
Community Service
Throughout the year, Holy Angels actively serves those less fortunate through service projects. These include a fall coat drive, Easter baskets, monthly peanut butter and jelly days, canned food drives and any other needs, as they arise.
Field Trips
In accordance with diocesan recommendations, each class takes two educational field trips per school year. Several in-school field trips are also held throughout the year. These field trips are integrated into the regular curriculum.
Geography Bee
Students in grades four through eight participate in classroom and school-wide geography bees to qualify for local and state competitions.
Guidance Counselor
A counseling program at Holy Angels is
available to students, parents, teachers, and staff where spiritual,
intellectual, social, physical, and emotional issues are addressed. The
goals of the counseling program are as follows:
- To increase student understanding and acceptance of him/herself.
- To help each student develop greater self-direction and responsibility. Each student is aware and taught our non-bullying program, which is based on student choices and responsibility for self-behavior.
- To help students develop effective decision making skills and to teach and enhance coping skills.
- To assist parents, students, teachers, and staff with any necessary referrals for educational testing, psychiatrists, psychologists, and outside counseling.

WINGS
A new positive behavior reinforcement program has been implemented this year to recognize our wonderful children called WINGS (When Instructors Notice Good Stuff). Children earn WINGS for random acts of kindness, uniform checks, exceptionally good behavior, the Principal’s birthday, and a completed Box Tops sheet. At the end of each trimester, the children will redeem their coupons for prizes. The Home and School Association sponsors this reward program.
